Nintendo today announced that a Wii U Special Edition Deluxe Set will release on May 29th exclusively in Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com.

The special bundle will include a Wii U Deluxe console, a copy of Splatoon via download code and a copy of Nintendoland pre-installed on the system for $299.99. Splatoon Amiibo figures will be sold separately giving players access to special challenge stages and special gear not found elsewhere in the game.

While a price drop still seems like the best way to get as many Wii U systems in the hands of customers as possible, Nintendo has been doing a great job of releasing console bundles with their games. Not a bad deal if you’re still in the market for a Wii U but I’m not sure Splatoon will end up selling consoles like previous big hitters Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World.  Will be interesting to see how this sells for Best Buy.
