Today we get our first look at Sherlock: The Blind Banker #1 from Titan Comics.

Announced at New York Comic Con in October, Titan Comics is releasing this Sherlock Japanese manga for the first time in English in January 2017. Like Titan Comics’ previous release of Sherlock: A Study in Pink, The Blind Banker will be a six-issue mini-series.

This manga is an adaptation of the BBC Sherlock television series written by several Doctor Who scriptwriters including Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Stephen Thompson. Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness, Doctor Strange) and Martin Freeman (The Office, The Hobbit Trilogy) play Sherlock and Dr. Watson respectively in a modern day reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes stories.

A Study in Pink focused on the first 90 minute episode of the series and was originally released in 2012 in Japan. The Blind Banker covers the events of episode two and came out in 2013. There was also a third manga release adapted for the show’s third episode, The Great Game, in 2014. Titan Comics has the rights to that as well and plans to release it similarly.
