Longtime game designer Kent Hudson, whose previous works include Bioshock 2 and Deus Ex: Invisible War, has announced that his debut indie title, The Novelist, will be available December 10 for $14.99 through Steam or through Hudson’s website.

Those who pre-order the game will also receive a copy of the game’s soundtrack which will be available separately when the game launches.

Hudson wrote:

It’s been an amazing journey. The ups and downs have been huge, and it’s hard for me to believe the game is actually going to be out in the world soon. I truly hope you all enjoy it, and thanks again for all of your patience and support.

In The Novelist, players will assume the role of a ghostly presence in the house of writer Dan Kaplan. The story revolves around the struggles of Kaplan to balance work and his relationship with his family. Chapters can differ through each playthrough of the game as well.
