This post is like one of those scary trips to the doctor where he has good news and bad news for you. The good news: Civilization Revolution 2 was announced today and it’ll be released on July 2! The bad news: it’s only coming out for iOS devices.

2K sent out a press release this morning announcing that Civ Rev 2 will be launching as a premium title on July 2 for iOS devices, including the iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini and iPod Touch with the title coming soon to Android devices.They are promising that the game “will combine the core tactical elements of the series with intuitive controls and a friendly user interface – designed specifically for mobile gamers on touch-pad devices.”

Look that’s all well and good but I’m assuming most are hoping for a home console version to be released some time in the future. We’ll let you know if anything like that is announced. For now, you’ll be able to get your Lincoln, Napoleon and Gandhi fix on the go. That’s not all bad news….I suppose.
