Kalypso Media has released a new trailer for Tropico 5 showing the origin of El Presidente on the island of Tropico. SPOILER: He was a dictator pirate. Because….well, why not??

In Tropico 5, you, as El Presidente, will first take control of the island of Tropico during early colonial times. New features include advanced trading mechanics, new technology, scientific research trees and island exploration. Tropico 5 will also be adding cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players for the first time in the series’ history

Tropico 5 will be available in early summer for Windows PC, Mac, Linux and Xbox 360 followed by PlayStation 4 later this year.
